The small family meat market had turned into a company known for providing high quality meat to the surrounding area over the next few decades. The next major event in Otto & Sons’ history occurred in 1955 McDonald’s opened its first store in Illinois and chose Otto & Sons to provide its beef patties. This became a major facet of business for the meat company. As McDonald’s expanded across the country, Otto & Sons became one of four of the restaurant chain’s meat providers.
